A trio of forceful engines provides plenty of on- and off-road power. The 35i inline six cylinder 3.0-liter engine features BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, and the 50i 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V-8 has been updated with BMW’s Valvetronic throttle-less intake system. The 40e 2.0-liter four cylinder engine is the anchor of the plug-in hybrid iPerformance models, working with the lithium-ion powered eDrive motor to deliver efficiency and performance.

The xDrive all-wheel drive system distributes power between the front and rear axles and continuously adjusts the ratio to suit road conditions, enhancing handling and maintaining traction on the roughest surfaces.

The rear seats provide three inches of movement forward and backward, allowing passengers to use the DVD drive and two optional 10.2" LCD screens. The 40/20/40 split allows the seats to fold away and convert 35.8 cubic feet of cargo space to a spacious 76.7 cubic feet. With two cargo rails, four fastening points, a rear cargo net and a tensioning strap, there’s enough function to store and securely transport all manners of gear.

Surround View, a part of ConnectedDrive, offers a clear line of sight. Side and top-view cameras offer a bird’s-eye perspective through the 10.2" iDrive touch screen, while Parking Assistant helps you navigate in and out of tight spaces.
