The BMW 7 Series’ ears must be ringing, because everyone is talking about it. With award on top of award, it’s no wonder BMW’s flagship sedan is the talk of the town. Following 2016 New York International Auto Show, the 7 Series is now the bearer of the dual titles of 2016 World Luxury Car and Autobytel's 2016 Luxury Car of the Year.

The editors from Autobytel called the 7 Series “the most digitized full-size four-door to ever leave Bavaria,” and it’s this innovative technology inside that cinched the award for the sedan. With unrivaled innovations like Gesture Control and a scent dispenser, the 7 Series sets the standard for what luxury really means in this modern automotive market.

The World Car jurors also felt the 7 Series’ technology deserved some serious praise, but went further to applaud the 7 Series for innovative solutions like the Carbon Core technology, utilizing carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic to reduce the weight and increase the overall torsion strength of the vehicle.

“We are delighted and honored that the BMW 7 Series has been recognized as the World Luxury Car of the Year. Since it launched last autumn, the response from both the media and our customers has been extremely positive, with people especially appreciative of the way the 7 Series combines superb modern luxury with the outstanding driving dynamics BMW is famous for. With its many technical innovations, including gesture control and laser lights, there can be no doubt that the new BMW 7 Series is an outstanding flagship for the brand, setting new standards in its class.” –Dr. Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management, BMW AG
